New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets 5:30 pm

It’s always a good day when NYC rivals New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets tangle, and they meet Saturday at Barclay Center in Brooklyn, NY. New York is the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference and boasts the league’s best ATS away record.

Brooklyn is without Kevin Durant, and they’ve lost eight of their past 10 and are 8-11-1 ATS in their building. The Nets walloped the Knicks in December behind Durant’s triple-double, but NY should avenge that loss without the “slim reaper” in the lineup.

Seton Hall Pirates vs. Butler Bulldogs 4:00 pm

There is nothing better than Big East basketball on January afternoon, and we have a good battle ahead when the Seton Hall Pirates meet the Butler Bulldogs at 4:00 pm. The Pirates saw a four-game winning streak snapped by Marquette–the Hall is a slow-playing offense with one of the best defenses in the country.

They meet a dangerous three-point shooting Butler squad–the Bulldogs have one of the shortest rotations in the college game, and the deeper Pirates should sneak out a huge road win in a low-scoring affair.

Saint Peter’s Peacocks vs. Mount St Mary’s Mountaineers 5:00 pm

2022 NCAA Tournament darling Saint Peter’s meets Mount St Mary’s in a MAAC showdown. Saint Peter’s is in rebuild mode after their magical Marxh Madness run–they have horrible offensive numbers but are one of the best offensive-rebounding sides in the nation.

Mount St Mary’s has a vast edge in experience with deadly three-point snipers, and they’ll use both in what should be an extremely slow-paced, low-scoring affair.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Iowa Hawkeyes 2:00 pm

Rutgers meets Iowa in a classic Big Ten Sunday showdown. The Scarlet Knights are 2nd in the Big Ten standings and have the 2nd best defense in the country–they play at a snail’s pace and are a below-average shooting squad from inside and outside the arc.

Iowa is 9-2 ATS at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and plays a fast-paced game–the Hawkeyes are top five in turnover percentage and solid shooters from beyond the arc on down to the charity stripe. Iowa wins this one in a nail-biter.
