New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes is a short favorite at DraftKings to win the award. Still, he faces serious competition from reigning Hart Memorial Trophy winner Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and many others who could snatch away the Hart Trophy from Hughes and the rest of the favorites on the DraftKings New Jersey betting board.

Hart Memorial Trophy Requirements
According to the NHL website, the Hart Trophy is given out to the player “adjudged to be the most valuable player on his team.” The award is voted on by Professional Hockey Writers Association members, with the winner being announced shortly after the Stanley Cup Finals has concluded.
Hart Memorial Trophy Leaderboard
Three-time winner and reigning Hart Memorial Trophy winner Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers is the betting favorite to win his fourth Hart Trophy.
Edmonton might be the ninth seed in the Western Conference, but that isn’t on McDavid. The Oilers star has accounted for a third-best 53 points on 14 tallies with a second-best 39 helpers over 901 shifts this season.
McDavid will face a serious challenge from Tampa Bay Lightning leading scorer Nikita Kucherov (+340). Kucherov leads the NHL with 63 points on the league’s second-most goals, the second-most power-play goals (10), and five game-winning goals on 863 shifts.
The Colorado Avalanche are second in the Western Conference, primarily on the stick of All-Star center Nathan MacKinnon. The Avs sniper has the second most points this season and leads the NHL in helpers on 901 shifts. MacKinnon leads the league in power-play assists (20) and should likely be on top of the leaderboard.
The Boston Bruins are the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and forward David Pastrnak is a huge reason why. Pastrnak is sixth in points, and his 22 markers are also tied for sixth-best. He is leading the league with 178 shots taken.
Last but certainly not least is New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes. The Devils’ center leads eighth-seeded New Jersey in points, goals, and assists and is absolutely the key to whatever success the Devils may have this season.
