I like Stearns to win this match. Neither lady has a winning hardcourt record this season, but Stearns has the better return of serve, and Tauson is just an average server at best. Stearns played a break of serve fest in the first round, while Tauson needed three sets to upset No. 27 seed Anastasia Potopova. Lucia Bronzetti vs Eva Lys
Lys is a -130 favorite at DraftKings with a 21.5-game total for their Thursday second-round encounter.
Bronzetti is a +130 underdog, but I like Brozetti to win this match. Bronzetti is coming off a huge, straight-sets victory over Barbora Krejikova. Bronzetti fired seven aces with five breaks of serve in nine attempts. Lys qualified for this event and won her first-round match without a break of serve in her 6-2, 6-1 win over Robin Montgomery. Bronzetti is the more experienced player and should win – take Bronzetti +130 at Caesars NJ.
Grigor Dimitrov vs. Andy Murray
Dimitrov is a -120 favorite (DraftKings) with a 39.5 game total when the two rivals square off in the second round on Thursday.
I like Murray (+105) at DraftKings. Murray won this event as a junior and the main Men’s draw. Murray is 8-3 lifetime vs. Dimitrov, but they haven’t played each other since 2016. Thursday features a battle between two solid returners, but Dimitrov has a sore knee and needed a fifth-set tiebreaker to sneak past Alex Molcan, and I believe Murray will be too hard for Dimitrov to beat here in New York. Daniel Evans vs Botic van de Zandschulp
Evans is a -180 favorite at DraftKings with a 38.5-point total for their Thursday second-round matchup.
I like van de Zandschulp to win this match, +155 at PointsBet NJ. van de Zandschulp has the bigger serve of the two and probably the better return game as well. Evans might be the higher-ranked player who won the Washington event but was bounced in the first round in Toronto and Cincinnati.
van de Zandschulp is recovering from some injury that cost him nearly the entire summer hardcourt season, but he should take down Evans on Thursday. Play van de Zanschulp +155 at PointsBet.
